Το Wild is the Wind γράφτηκε απο τον Dimitri Tiompkin και τον Ned Washington. Η πρώτη εκτέλεση ήταν απο τον Johny Mathis, το 1956, για την ομώνυμη ταινία. Δεκα χρόνια μετά ήρθε η Nina Simone για να δώσει μια εξαιρετική ερμηνεία στο τραγούδι

Δεκα χρόνια μετα την Simone ο David Bowie θα το ερμηνευσει με τον δικό του τρόπο στο Station to Station αλλα θα το κανει πάλι γνωστό, 5 χρονια αργότερα, το 1981 σε μια επανέκδοση του τραγουδιού.

Το 1989 η Τανια Τσανακλιδου θα το τραγουδησει για το Μαγικο Κουτι, σε μια εκτέλεση ανάλογη της Nina Simone, που μπορει να υστερεί καπως σε προφορά αλλα όχι και σε συναίσθημα.
